About HISC

HCSC Insurance Services Company ("HISC") is an Illinois life and health insurance company licensed to sell insurance in 43 states plus the District of Columbia. HISC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Health Care Service Corporation, a Mutual Legal Reserve Company ("HCSC"). HISC and HCSC are independent licensees of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, which is an association of independent Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans.

HISC offers Blue Medicare PPO in the Houston (four counties) and El Paso areas in Texas and in all of New Mexico. HISC will offer Medicare Part D Blue MedicareRx prescription drug benefits in Illinois, Texas and New Mexico beginning in January 1, 2006.

In addition, HISC performs Medicaid Utilization Review under a contract with the State of New Mexico. HISC also provides stop-loss and executive medical insurance coverages to certain national employers whose self-funded health benefits are administered by the operating divisions of HCSC.
