Medicare Part D Enrollment Online or by Phone or Mail

Medicare Part D enrollment is easy and simple with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois. There are three ways you can enroll in one of our Blue MedicareRx (PDP) plans:

Online

Save time and enroll* through our secure and convenient online process.

Medicare beneficiaries may enroll in Blue MedicareRx (PDP)^SM through Medicare's online enrollment center by visiting www.medicare.gov on the web. Under "Search Tools" select "Compare Medicare Prescription Drug Plans." Drug plan participation in Medicare's enrollment center is voluntary, so not all plans offer this option.You will have to provide the number on your Medicare card when you join. You may also be asked to give your Social Security number, but you aren't required to provide it. Enrollment for January 1, 2010, does not begin until November 15, 2009. If you would like to change your current Blue MedicareRx (PDP) coverage option, call a Product Specialist today.

What happens after I enroll in Blue MedicareRx (PDP)?

You will receive:

• An acknowledgement letter within 10 days that Blue MedicareRx (PDP) has received your enrollment form
• A confirmation letter with your Blue MedicareRx (PDP) member identification card attached
• Your Blue MedicareRx (PDP) Welcome Kit

Your Blue MedicareRx (PDP) Welcome Kit includes:

• Evidence of Coverage, which outlines the rules of the Blue MedicareRx (PDP) plan you have selected
• Your Blue MedicareRx (PDP) Quick Start Checklist, which includes your special access to a guided online tour with helpful tools and tips

How can I change my current Blue MedicareRx (PDP) coverage option?

Want to change plans? Complete the online enrollment form*, call a Product Specialist, or print and mail a paper enrollment form  to us.

We will update your change accordingly and mail you a confirmation letter.

Please call a Product Specialist for a document available in alternate formats or languages.
