Pharmacy

Enjoy the convenience of one the area’s largest pharmacy networks that includes major chains like Walgreens, Osco, and Wal-Mart. You can also find coverage at long-term care and home infusion pharmacies as well as most local independent pharmacies. You’re sure to find a Blue MedicareRx Participating Pharmacy* in your neighborhood.

Simply show your ID card when picking up your prescription at any one of our more than 1,950 Blue MedicareRx Participating Pharmacies in Illinois and 50,000 Blue MedicareRx Participating Pharmacies nationwide.**

Mail-Order Pharmacy
You can use the Blue MedicareRx mail order service* to fill prescriptions for any drug that is marked as a mail-order drug on the formulary list.

You are not required to use mail order prescription drug services to obtain an extended supply of maintenance medications. Some retail pharmacies may agree to accept the mail order copayment for an extended supply of medications, which may result in no out-of-pocket payment difference to you.

Preferred Pharmacies
Blue MedicareRx makes it even easier to save on your medications when you visit a preferred network pharmacy.  Visit Wal-Mart, Albertson's, Safeway, Target or Kroger pharmacy or their affiliates and save on copayments when you fill a 90-day supply.  Pay just two copayments instead of three!  View complete list of preferred pharmacies (PDF) in your area.

Out-of-network coverage
Blue MedicareRx has formed a network of pharmacies.  You must use a network pharmacy to receive plan benefits.  However, covered drugs are available at out-of-network pharmacies in special circumstances including illness while traveling outside the plan's service area where there is no network pharmacy.  Find a pharmacy* in your neighborhood
