Medicare Part D Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for Medicare Part D coverage and/or Blue MedicareRx (PDP)SM, you must:
- be entitled to Medicare benefits under Part A or enrolled in Part B;
- reside in Texas; and
- not be enrolled in any other Medicare Part D Plan
Please note: If you are currently enrolled in a Medicare Advantage (MA) plan, you should review the following scenarios carefully:
- You may not enroll in any Medicare-approved prescription drug plan unless you have a Medical Services Account (MSA) or a Private Fee-For-Service (PFFS) Medicare Advantage Plan that does not provide Medicare prescription drug coverage.
- If you are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage HMO, PPO, or POS plan, you may only receive your Medicare Prescription drug benefits through that Medicare Advantage plan.
- If you are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage HMO, PPO, or POS plan, or a Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug Plan, and then enroll in an independent Medicare-approved prescription drug plan, you will automatically be disenrolled from your Medicare Advantage plan or the other prescription drug plan.
